How to get to Porquerolles

Porquerolles is an Island. The canonical way to get there is to take the boat from "La tour fondue" (20mn ride) (Check here for schedules, then choose “Tour Fondue/Porquerolles”).

The conference starts on Monday September 2, at 9:00 am, which means arriving at Porquerolles on Sunday afternoon. Keep in mind that THE LAST BOAT LEAVES AT 7:00 pm. There will be no talks on Friday (September 7) afternoon and it will be possible to leave the Island before lunch with the 11:30 am boat, the next boat being at 2:00 pm.

How to get to "La tour fondue" by train

We will organize bus transportation from Toulon train station to "La tour fondue" on Sunday 2nd afternoon. Conference bus leaves at 3:45pm and we should be able to catch the 5:00 pm boat. A round trip boat ticket will be provided to those participants that choose to take that bus.
For the way back on Friday 7th, there will be a bus waiting for us at 2:20 pm (corresponding to the 2pm boat), and driving us to Toulon train station (arrival expected a bit after 3pm).

If you cannot take the canonical bus, then you may prefer to take the train to Hyères. From there, take a cab to la Tour Fondue or the bus number 67.
Check train schedule here.

How to get to "La tour fondue" by plane

Toulon-Hyères aiport is not far from "La tour fondue". No public transportation, but you can take a cab or walk (about 8 kms). You may also fly to Marseilles, than take the train to Toulon and get the conference bus.
